Alastair’s Abachan is a landscape incantation, written in Lybster, Caithness at a time of crisis. He notes: “it is unlikely that I will make another filmpoem with a poem of my own. This is for my mother.” And this has proved to be the case.
Abachan was premiered at the Scottish Centre for Geopoetics at Brantwood, John Ruskin’s house on Coniston in the Lake District in March 2011.
This film contains an experimental structured soundtrack of found sounds by Victoria MacRae and drones by David Fyans.
