Filmpoem Festival 2014 will be held on Saturday 14th June 2014 in the FelixPakhuis in Antwerp as part of Felix Poetry Festival. Filmpoem Festival is fully supported by Antwerpen Boekenstad and is working in partnership with The Poetry Society.
What a festival we have for you! We have commissioned Michael Symmons Roberts, Helen Mort and John Glenday to write on the festival theme, Migration. Alongside a poetic gift from David Harsent, the poets will present new film-poetry of their work. David, John and Michael have kindly agreed to read on Thursday 12th June as part of Felix Poetry Festival; they will also be in discussion with the filmmakers Marc Neys, James Norton, Maxime Coton and Alastair Cook and composer Luca Nasciuti during the main Filmpoem Festival on Saturday 14th June.
We have been working in partnership with The Poetry Society to bring you poetry-film of the ten winning entries (a top three and seven commended). The first, second and third prize winners are available on this website and the seven commended will be unveiled at Filmpoem Festival and then all ten will screen at Poetry International (Southbank, London) and ZEBRA (Berlin) later in the year. Phew!
More soon!
